You'll have to excuse the pun here, but the team at Keepr's had been 'keeping a secret' which I unearthed on a visit to their distillery. They'd been sitting on some Cognac casks, that held a magnificently rich, exceptionally fruity sloe gin. Head Distiller Marzio poured me a little tasting measure, straight from the cask and as he did so he couldn't hold back a wry grin. Needless to say, it tasted absolutely delicious, and I laid down a marker for the whole batch on the spot. It is deep and concentrated, layered with spiced fruit notes that mingle with the juniper of the base gin, and you'll find just a touch of grip and tannin from time in barrel as you enjoy the long, luscious finish.
