  • Shipwreck is aged in finely grained premium Allier oak barrels which adds distinctive smoky, oaky flavours to this Somerset cider brandy.
  • The production of cider brandy in Somerset is an ancient tradition and Julian Temperley revived the art back in 1989!

The Spirit

Country of origin:

England

Shipwreck is a delicious cider brandy, carefully crafted using a wide variety of apples grown in Somerset at Pass Vale Farm. The farm sits at the base of Barrow Hill and 180 acres of magnificent cider apple orchards provide the fruit to produce very fine English cider and top-class, award-winning brandy. Shipwreck is bottled at 42%, adding richness and power to the palate sitting in perfect balance with smoke notes, dried fruits and of course plenty of toffee apple character.

The Distillery

Somerset Cider Brandy Co.

Pass Vale Farm and distillery sits at the base of Barrow Hill in Somerset where 180 acres of cider apple orchards provide the fruit to create exceptionally good cider and, these days,award-winning cider brandy, too. The farm has a 200 plus year history of pressing cider, however, back in 1989 Julian Temperley decided to bring back an age old Somerset tradition and, at the same time, craft the first ever fully licensed cider brandy!

The Perfect Serve

Shipwreck Somerset Cider Brandy

This West Country cider brandy is exceptionally smooth and we like sipping it neat, on the rocks, in a classic brandy bowl glass.

Ok, so this is not bad at all. Fantastic brandy with the apples coming through loud and clear. A smooth sipper with good complexity. 4 stars because of the value, as you can get just as fine Jerez brandy or rum here for around £35, whereas this would be £50 for the same size bottle.
