Henners, England
Nestled next to the Pevensey Levels Nature Reserve and less than five miles from the sea in East Sussex, Henners Vineyard was established in the picturesque village of Herstmonceux in 2007. Planted with the three classic sparkling grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, the vineyard is in one of the driest, sunniest pockets of England.
They make very, very good sparkling wine as a result. Collette and team make award-winning wine, yes, but also they make it with a real sense of fun and adventure. So, they were natural partners for Vineyard Collection. They were only too happy when we hived off a few rows of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for our project.
Henners Chardonnay Pinot Noir Sparkling Wine NV
Selected from several vine rows, this limited production classic uses traditional methods to deliver richness and complexity. Reserve wines combined with a gentle touch of barrel-fermented Chardonnay bring depth and roundness. Expect notes of citrus, cox apple and pear to combine with sweet brioche leading to a long, elegant finish.
