We've been collaborating with the super-talented winemaker Jacques Theron for several harvests, focusing on wonderfully fruit-forward wines from top-class vineyards across the Cape. This expertly blended multi-varietal red combines black and red berry-filled Shiraz with rich, fruity Cinsaut, and a dash of dark, inky Mourvèdre to round everything off.

It's rare to find such an authentic, exceptional Pinot Noir. It boasts terrific flavour concentration without any heaviness, a hallmark of great Pinot Noir.

L'Artisan Grenache 187ml 2023

We’d discussed blending a pure Grenache with Languedoc winemaker Cederic Ragues and set about it back in December 2023. It was cold, and we couldn’t get to him until the evening due to prior commitments, so he suggested we did it at his family home. It all took place around his kitchen dinner table, surrounded by samples and blending apparatus. We tinkered away and the finished wine is a raspberry and cherry fruit-filled classic, perfect for enjoying all year round, either by the glass or paired with a wide variety of home-cooked classics.

El Nubarrón Carménère 187ml 2023

Carménère was nearly wiped out in Bordeaux by disease in the late 1800s and French winemakers didn’t replant it due to its difficulty in ripening. However, when it reaches full maturity, it can produce fantastic wines. Fortunately, Carménère has thrived in Chile, where it yields exceptional wines like El Nubarron. The Central Valley's long, warm, and dry summers are perfect for cultivating these late-ripening berries.

Australian Merlot is often overlooked, quietly living in the shadow of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. However, it delivers wonderfully juicy, plum-and-red-berry-laden grapes to award-winning winemaker David King, who transforms them into one of the most drinkable red wines available. This Merlot is perfectly ripe and smooth, with a delicate spiced edge and notes of plum, blackberry, and vanilla.
