A nod to Charles Darwin, Darwin's Origin was brewed to commemorate one of Shropshire's most famous sons. In the spirit of evolution this is a traditionally brewed bitter but with a modern twist with the use of international hop varieties. Copper in colour with notable malt character, brought to life with perfectly balanced vibrant citrus. It's not only a great tasting beer but also the overall champion of SIBA's inagural Digital Beer Awards in 2020.

Whitefriars Brewing Project will become a range full to the brim of some of the country's favourite beer styles, made to perfection in small batches by the leaders in the field. Our golden ale was brewed for us by Slater's in Stafford whose own ales have been a huge hit for Virgin customers. This small 2000-litre batch was brewed with traditional UK hops Fuggles and Goldings, is round and approachable with caramel notes, floral hints and a subtle biscuity aroma. Sure to be a big hit!

One of our first partners since launching our beer range was Malt Coast. Their beers stood out in the very first tasting we did and after a few conversations it soon became apparent that we shared the same perspective which was to ignore the race to the bottom of low-priced, cheaply made beer, but to spend a bit more on the best ingredients and let the beer speak for itself. This is our first bespoke beer and it's no surprise that we teamed up with Malt Coast to make it happen!

Another collaborative effort between Virgin Wines and Malt Coast Brewery to bring you a pilsner with class and massive drinkability. As is the norm with a Farmhouse Republic beer this is a limited edition batch that was hand-crafted on Malt Coast's family farm brewery with the best ingredients and meticulous management of water chemistry and recipe building. You needn't worry about the technical stuff though as the most important thing is that it performs when it's in your glass. And the FR pilsner does so effortlessly!

Farmhouse Republic is our very own craft beer project that we're running with our friends at Malt Coast Brewery on the North Norfolk coast. They've dedicated a 1000-litre tank to us and we're making regular small batches of beer with the finest ingredients. There will never be much of each beer, but the next release will always be just around the corner. This Pale Ale was the first beer we made and it expresses everything that we hoped. A subtle but moreish biscuity note from the home-grown Maris Otter barley, and immense refreshing bitterness from the finest hops. We're very proud to say the least!
