The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Loire

The very best sparkling wines have an elegance on the palate thanks to the perfectly formed bubbles that are sit in harmony with the fruit, which is obtained through precise selection of the still wines for blending, a second fermentation in bottle, followed by a long period of maturation in the bottle. In the case of Quadrille from award-winning Langlois Chateau, the ageing lasts four years, followed by a further 6 months post disgorgement, to allow the wine to fully knit together and the aromas to fully develop.

The Winemaker

Francois Regis de Fougeroux
Winemaker:

François Régis de Fougeroux

Originally from the Loire, François grew up on his parents' farm where he quickly became passionate about nature, hunting and of course wines. He also went to discover new horizons, spending time in Argentina, Brazil and a very impressive and unforgettable experience in an Australian Winery (Petaluma in the Adelaide area). Both a biology and finance graduate, he joined Langlois-Château in 2001 as Production Manager. In 2008, Michel Villedey (Managing Director since 1973) decided to retire and asked François to succeed him. Since then he has continued his work, working with the whole team, to establish Langlois-Château as the ultimate winery of the Loire Valley.

"You'll find notes of brioche, nuts and dried fruits on the nose and the palate is fine and creamy with a nice acidity, underlined by aromas of lemon and raspberry." - François Régis de Fougeroux, Winemaker.
