The Wine

Country of origin:

Italy

Region:

Piedmont

Arneis is the main white grape in a region otherwise dominated by the world-class red wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. It was once used to soften the hard edges of the Nebbiolo grape for the aforementioned wines but, as demand for white wine grew, more attention was given to the cultivation of this varietal and now we get to enjoy a unique white wine from a region that puts quality at the top of the priority list.

The Winemaker

Roberto Sarotto
Winemaker:

Roberto Sarotto

Sarotto has been a family-owned winery since way back in the 1700s. Having passed through numerous generations and been specialists in various export markets, it's Roberto Sarotto now that runs the estate and has fine-tuned its production to modern, precise and expressive wines with regional and varietal identity.

"Comes into its own with light, everyday dishes, particularly creamy cheeses and all manner of chicken." - Roberto Sarotto, Winemaker.

Delicious and well rounded!

Amazing!!

Refreshing.

Complex bouquet with hints of citrus and minerality. Very high acidity, unusual for this grape, which masked the fruit. Once acidity had calmed down - about 45 minutes in glass - the fruit came through as lemon/peach with a long satisfying creamy, almost melon, finish. Would advise decanting for 1 hour before drinking.
