Anna and Jordi Valles make our signature Nu Allanges Cava, which has been a firm customer favourite for many years. Aged on its lees, just like Champagne, to gain all those wonderful biscuit and pastry aromas. They have recently started to make a Brut Nature expression - which means that it has no added sugar (as opposed to Brut which has a small amount added). So, this is the most natural and driest expression of their iconic sparkling wine.

Oscar's talents are undoubtable as a winemaker, but behind all this is the person who is the soul of Emendis, Jordi Valles. He comes from Penedès and his family are very much rooted in the wine business of the region. He worked for Castell d'Age and then Bodegas Roqueta for 10 years. During that time, he met and married Anna Valles. Anna's father had bought the beautiful farmhouse and vineyards surrounding Emendis many years before. At that time, he was selling the grapes off, but Jordi convinced his father-in-law to transform the vineyards and start to make quality wines and Cavas, and to build a modern winery. In 2006, he left his job to join Emendis full-time and since then has established them as a producer of real quality and interest.
"Nu Allonge Cava Brut Nature is pale with gold and emerald hints of colour, and a delicate string of fine bubbles. It has a primary nose of soft woody tones with citrus notes, nuances of bay-leaf, and a lingering finish of sweet orange. To the palate it presents a fine acidity with soft bubbles of good duration. In the mouth it is rounded and elegant exhibiting velvety notes of sweet fruits, leaving a light aftertaste of raw almond." - Oscar Barrado and Jordi Valles, Winemakers.
