We blended this wine with winemaker Hernan de la Barra with a clear goal to bottle up a super juicy, food friendly, open at the drop of a hat Cabernet. We kept oak out of the picture to allow the cassis and eucalyptus characters to work alongside the ripe natural tannins of the king of red grapes. The result is a bold, black-fruit laden single variety Cabernet Sauvignon that will pair with all sorts of dishes, from slow cooked beef casseroles to pan fried duck breasts.

Hernan de la Barra
Hernan de la Barra studied Viticulture and Winemaking in Chile and became a winemaker in 2002. He cut his teeth in the US working as an assistant winemaker in the Sonoma Valley and then headed out to Spain for a year. He returned to Chile in 2007 to work on a boutique project with an old friend before taking a role as chief winemaker at Chile's Isla de Maipo.
