The clay and limestone soils of this Haut Barsac vineyard provide the best environment for the Semillon grown here. The fogs coming in from the local rivers shroud the vineyards and encourage the development of a serendipitous act of nature - noble rot. This fungus attacks the water of the ripe grapes, leaving only the sugars - one of the most important objectives in the vineyard. Thanks Mother Nature!
