This is the second release from the Torabhaig Distillery, the 1st to be built on the Isle of Skye in 190 years! After the success of the inaugural release this newest bottling will be closely followed, with stocks again in very scarce supply and on strict allocation. This release will be made available in four tranches over the course of 2021 and 2022 and showcases the journey the distillery is moving through, capturing the style changes and evolution of the whisky as it slowly matures in cask. It is light and zippy in character, but also shows depth and complexity with plenty of peat smoke notes.
The Distillery The Distillery
Torabhaig is a new distillery that respects the long standing traditions of Scottish whisky production yet looks to introduce a contemporary approach. It is the first distillery to be built on Skye in more than 185 years and it is only the second legal distillery ever to operate on the island! The stills were properly fired up in January 2017 and distillation takes place in hand-built, beautiful copper stills (as you would expect). However, the modern twist is the choice to ferment in traditional wooden washbacks that add complexity of flavour in the finished whisky. We were very impressed by the first samples and will be closely following how this exciting project develops over the years to come.

Bottled at 46% we recommend you add a little splash of ice-cold mineral water to your measure, this will nudge the alcohol content down a little and help release the depth of character held within this very fine single malt whisky.
