The secret of this French elixir lies in the combination of 130 different herbs and plants that are macerated, blended and finally fused together to create a perfectly balanced tonic. The recipe is believed to be the work of a 16th century alchemist, who amongst other skills, had a profound knowledge of plants and herbs, probably one of the greatest botanists of the time. The recipe was gifted to the Carthusian Monks and since 1737 they have distilled and produced this green hued booze!
